Projects

Do you do the static calculations?

Since this issue, which is among the Frequently Asked Questions, is a requirement of engineering solutions, we perform static calculations of precast products within its own structure. However, the business owner is required to make a general static load calculations to cover other products on the facade.

It should be immediately after reinforced concrete and before other facade and joinery applications. In fact, the ideal method is to be installed according to the work programme to be prepared in coordination with the owner.

For a healthy bidding process, the CAD projects of the work must be complete. Together with the projects, photographs and other information about the area where the application will be made are important.

All kinds of application projects of the contracted projects are prepared by our technical office. Afterwards, the prepared application projects are submitted to the approval of the business owner. Thus, production is started after approval. As a result, the projects approved by the employer are final and binding for both parties.

The quantities formed during the proposal and contract are estimates. Therefore, the final quantity is finalised with the application projects to be prepared after the contract. In all cases, the quantities based on progress payment are the quantities formed by the application projects.

In case of sharing the ready-made invoices, if available, a quick quotation can be prepared. However, in the absence of this, quantity calculations are made by us on the submitted projects.

Precast Facade Prices are determined depending on the repetition of the precast (GRC) elements used in the facade and the type of mould.

Production

Is it possible to produce different textures and shapes?

Precast (GFRC/GRC) can be produced in any shape and form thanks to the fibres used as reinforcement. It is one of the most distinctive features of GFRC. There are numerous patterns and forms in the company archives. In addition, designers and sculptors working within the company can design the desired pattern and form, taking into account the project requirements.

GFRC Precast has a flexible and non-cracking structure thanks to the fibre fibres used as reinforcement. Although a single piece of 25 m2 is produced in our facilities, considering both the deflection performance of GRC, which is a natural material, and the transport limits, our common production dimensions cannot be more than 2.5 m in one direction due to highway gauge limitations. The length of the other part is 3,2 m on average, taking into account the height of the reinforced concrete floor. However, production can also be made in different lengths.

GRC Precast can be produced as heat insulated. Therefore, heat insulated facade panels GRC shell is terminated by applying rock wool, mesh reinforced with fixing apparatus depending on the region where the application will be made and the project requirement. Thus, the heat insulated facade panels, which have become composite in this form, are in A1 non-flammability class.

GRC precast can also be produced in colour. Coloured production can be made with pigments with high UV resistance. However, we recommend the use of pastel colours. A series of problems may occur in dark colours. External painting is recommended for dark colour requests. Paints with impregnation properties can also be used to minimise the depth loss of textured surfaces in this frequently asked question.

Assembly

How are GRC Precastings mounted to the building?

The team of architects, engineers, designers and technicians working in the technical office of the company meticulously evaluates the whole process from modelling to mould, from production to assembly, and the projects prepared according to the project requirements are shared with the relevant departments and the whole process is shaped according to these projects. In addition, in the assembly booklet prepared for the assembly teams, GRC Precast is ensured to be made by means of specially designed anchors to the reinforced concrete of the building. Thus, the whole process is followed under the supervision of the project architect.

Special products with high UV resistance and high adhesion performance with elastic properties are always used in the joint gaps.

GRC concrete weighs 2000 kg/m3. GRC Precast can be produced as thin as 10 mm due to the use of fibre instead of steel as reinforcement. Considering the requirements of texture, shape etc., GRC Precast thicknesses are around 15 mm in mass production. This is 2000*0,015 mm=30 kg/m2. This calculation does not include steel carriers and anchors that will be produced according to static calculations.

Quality

How long is your warranty period?

The warranty period is 24 months.

GFRC/GRC is the only repairable product among facade products. Generally, these repairs are carried out by our maintenance team for a fee. We also provide services for surface cleaning and sealant repairs for a fee. Please get an offer.

Generally, as with any product applied outdoors, GFRC Precast can also get dirty. Of course, their cleaning is quite simple. It is easily cleaned by applying water to the surface with the addition of soap and then cleaned with apparatus such as brushes and sponges. In addition, stubborn contaminations that have penetrated deep into the structure are cleaned with special chemical cleaning products.

Cement, silica sand in appropriate granules and purity, AR Glas fibre, liquid and powder admixtures that give concrete superior properties, etc.

It can be painted with any exterior paint after primer application with suitable qualities.

GRC Precast has serious water repellent properties. GRC precast received in accordance with the standards are waterproof.

No cracking occurs in products manufactured in accordance with the standards. However, widespread cracks are observed if C class or other classes of fibres are used instead of AR Glass fibres, which should be used especially for cost reduction. GRC Precast products require very sensitive monitoring of the production process due to their fine castings. GRC Precast should be produced in factory environment. Such structural problems are commonly observed in products produced in the construction site environment. Cracks also occur in products that are not cured sufficiently. For this reason, the production environment of GRC Precast and the suitability of the raw materials used by the manufacturer are vital. Our recommendation would be to prefer TSE certified products.

GRC Precast products are very resistant. Today, it has been observed that it loses 1 mm of tissue in 50 years in aging tests. Therefore, no structural cracks occur in GRC Precast products manufactured in accordance with the standards. In short, the products do not require maintenance in their original state. However, filling mastics applied to the joint gaps or paints applied to the surface are maintained or renewed in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer companies. In addition, it is appropriate to apply cleaning process in certain periods against surface contamination.
